This year's DOCTRID V Conference will take place on 27-28 April at the University of Limerick, Ireland. DOCTRID, the "Daughters of Charity Technology and Research into Disability", is a collaborative international research institute committed to research excellence into Intellectual Disabilities (ID) and autism.

The conference targets Researchers (social, technological, behavioural and life sciences), Health care professionals, People with Intellectual Disability or Autism, their families and carers. The DOCTRID V conference will include presentations from international experts, panel discussions and workshops aimed at fostering collaborations and innovations to make a real difference in the lives of those with ID and Autism. Key themes to be discussed will be Social Inclusion, Lifestyle and Connected Health and Assistive Technologies.

Furthermore, ASSISTID Fellows will provide insight into the progress and findings of their projects. ASSISTID is a programme cofunded by the European Commission and the charity RESPECT as part of the EU Marie-Curie programme. It will fund up to 30 researchers to develop, assess and improve technology solutions to enable people with Intellectual Disabilities or Autism Spectrum Disorder to communicate, learn, work, play, and function more easily in the world.
